From May 24th-26th, IEAI Director Prof. Christoph Lütge and Executive Director Dr. Caitlin Corrigan attended the 3rd UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Corrigan took part on the first day as a member of the Women 4 Ethical AI (W4EAI) platform and the AI Ethics Experts Without Borders (AIEB) network. She also sat on the panel for the session Women Leaders at the Forefront of AI Policy and Technology” on the final day of the event. Key take aways from these discussions included the need for better and more specific data on gender gaps in AI in particular (not just STEM), more inclusive AI governance that prioritizes gender equality and supports this with funding initiatives, and a greater emphasis on assessing AI harms that disproportionately impact women.

Prof. Lütge and Dr. Corrigan also met in person with key partners during the event, including members of the IEAI organized Global AI Ethics Consortium.
