Process mining systems use AI to analyze process data with the goal of increasing efficiency and identifying potential bottlenecks that hinder smooth process flows. In clinic environments, such systems can improve administrative procedures, save time and ultimately impact medical care positively. However, their widespread deployment creates the need to understand ethical and social effects for important stakeholders. These effects are outlined and evaluated in our June 2021 Research Brief “The Use of AI to Analyze Process- based Data in Hospitals: Opportunities, Limits and Ethical Considerations”.
