What inspired you to join the MoralPLai project?
As with any emerging technology, the ethical implications of AI are profound. I believe there is a significant gap between society’s understanding of these ethical challenges and the widespread, pervasive use of AI across various platforms. MoralPLai effectively bridges this gap by addressing AI ethics in a uniquely creative and approachable way—through theatre. This innovative combination of science and art in interdisciplinary research is what inspired me to join the MoralPLai project.

What are your thoughts on combining research with the arts?
I believe that combining research with the arts opens up a unique way to make complex topics more relatable and engaging. The arts provide a creative lens through which scientific and academic ideas can be communicated to broader audiences. I find that this interdisciplinary approach not only fosters innovation but also adds depth and emotional resonance to the research, particularly in areas like ethics and morality. By blending the analytical with the creative, we inspire meaningful connections and a greater understanding of important issues.

How comfortable would you feel taking guidance from AI on a personal issue?
I wouldn´t feel comfortable taking guidance from AI on a personal issue, nor would I rely solely on AI for advice on a moral dilemma. This hesitation stems mainly from the absence of human contact and the lack of emotional or empathetic understanding that only a human can provide.

Would you consider relying on AI for advice in a moral dilemma?
Without the human element, AI´s advice can feel impersonal and disconnected from the complexities of human experience and emotions, making it difficult to trust fully in sensitive matters.

What role do you think creativity plays in exploring complex ethical questions around AI?
I believe creativity is essential in addressing complex ethical questions surrounding AI. It allows us to think beyond traditional frameworks and explore innovative solutions that balance technological advancement with moral considerations. Creative thinking helps us imagine the unintended consequences of AI and provides new ways to frame ethical considerations. For instance, tools like storytelling, art, or theatre can humanize abstract concepts, making it easier to communicate AI´s ethical implications to a broader audience. Creativity also fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together perspectives from science, philosophy, and the arts to craft more holistic solutions to these ethical challenges.
