On June 2, 2022, IBM and the TUM Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence co-hosted the Responsible AI Soirée at the IBM Innovation Studio in Munich’s Watson Center. Their team members came together to discuss the crucial role of collaboration between research and industry in advancing Responsible AI.

Two years later, we are excited to join forces again, this time to dive deeper into the themes of Generative AI, Human Decision-Making and Responsible Design and the influence of intelligent decision-support systems and Large Language Models, such as ChatGPT, in our everyday lives.

An ethical and value-driven approach to AI needs a broad collaboration across the ecosystem. Partners from various disciplines – not only technology, but also research entities, economics, psychology, sociology and many more disciplines – play a role as they offer different perspectives on the same topic. Therefore, we are very happy to collaborate with the TUM Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (IEAI) and drive human-centered AI together.” Andrea Martin, CTO Ecosystem & Associations DACH – IBM Distinguished Engineer

We believe that addressing the ethical challenges of AI requires a truly collaborative approach. That is why we are dedicated to bringing together perspectives from all areas—academia, civil society, and, importantly, industry. Companies like IBM, which are at the forefront of deploying AI solutions across diverse domains, play a crucial role in the design of AI systems. Thus, we are thrilled to have their support in our MoralPLai project and look forward to our joint event on November 26 at the IBM premises in Munich “. Christoph Lütge, Director, Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence

To address these questions, IBM and IEAI are co-organizing a panel discussion to bring industry expertise into the conversation. With IBM’s leadership in AI deployment across sectors, this event offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage with one of the industry’s biggest players. Attendees will gain insights into the current AI landscape, explore key ethical considerations, and discuss the challenges and opportunities of designing and implementing AI solutions in practice.

Save the date: The event will take place on the evening of Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the IBM premises in Munich. More information regarding the detailed program, speakers, and registration will follow soon. Stay tuned for more!
