In April 2023, the IEAI signed a Letter of Intent with Cape Verde Smart City Foundation. The letter formalized our collective goal to promote research and exchange on the topic AI ethics, particular as it relates to Smart Cities. Additionally, both parties want to expand profile and reach of the Responsible AI Network Africa (RAIN-Africa). Cape Verde Smart City Foundation is a non profit organization founded in 2018 by the UN Urban Ambassador Habitat Cabo Verde and president of Grupo Loid Engenharia, a company with more than 20 years of experience in planning and urban and local development.
