On September 16th, the IEAI had the pleasure of hosting representatives of the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) at our office in Garching. JURI is responsible for EU legislation in the field of intellectual property and artificial intelligence. Several members of the committee undertook a mission to Munich to visit and see the AI related work of TUM, among other Munich based organizations.

The IEAI staff presented the institute’s approach and research, including activities and results from our three EU funded projects AI4POL, MELISSA and alignAI to several of the mission participants. Following the presentation, we had an engaging discussion on AI ethics and regulation with the JURI representatives.

Many thanks to the JURI members for their visit and interest in AI ethics.
