On November 13th-15th, the IEAI´s Dr. Auxane Boch, alongside the immersive realities working group at the TUM Think Tank, the Responsible XR HUB Nürnberg, and Women in AI Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Accenture, AI Grid, Devpost and StellDirVor gathered an interdisciplinary group of students and professionals at a three-day Hackathon.

HACK:XR+AI 2025 – Shaping XR + AI for Good, was an exploration of how XR and AI can shape our digital futures responsibly through the following tracks:

– AI in Immersive Environments
– Social Agents in Immersive Worlds
– Gamification in AR

Teams attended workshops and received guidance from experts throughout the hackathon. A jury of experts in AI, XR, and tech then met to evaluate the 12 projects.

The winners were:
– Overall Winner: Aura – an unbiased XR speaking and presentation app for communication disorders.
– Best Idea: ThXRrdSpace – a platform that leverages AI to provide an infrastructure for peer support communities and avoids unwanted emotional dependencies on AI agents
– Best Technical: PigeonTown – a mixed-reality “village” where learners practice cultural scenarios with embodied AI agents
– Best Ethics: Untangle – an XR experience that helps people reflect on their emotions through gentle, guided check-ins grounded in affective and positive psychology.
