“With this trend of outsourcing ever more decisions, and especially ever more of our ethical decisions, a lot of questions are arising. For example, to what extent will these systems help or hinder our ethical decision-making? What are the long-term repercussions of doing so? Will we, for example, end up morally deskilled? How should we design these intelligent decision-support systems so they remain human-centred?” Watch IEAI researcher and Friedrich Schiedel Fellow Franziska Poszler pitch the MoralPLai project during the inaugural kickoff event of the Friedrich Schiedel Fellowship for Technology in Society.

The MoralPLai project aims to integrate advanced AI ethics research with the creative power of the arts to explore the impact of AI on ethical decision-making. The findings will be translated into a theatrical performance set to take place in Munich in the spring of 2025. The project team gratefully acknowledge the financial support from the Notre Dame-IBM Tech Ethics Lab, the Friedrich-Schiedel-Fellowship Program at the TUM Think Tank and the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology, the TUM Global Incentive Fund and the Tuition Substitution Funds.
